Pastured Organic Raw Pet Food
Do you know what goes into the pet food you buy? You will want to read this article - Get The Facts: What’s Really in Pet Food, by the Animal Protection Institute so that you can be a more informed consumer in regards to your pet food purchasing. The Whole(istic) Truth About Pet Food, by Christie Keith, is another great article explaining the difference between "pet food" and "real food." Grass-Fed Traditions Pastured Organic Raw Chicken Steaks are made from our Pastured Chickens and organic coconut. We also offer raw organ meats and raw bones from grass-fed animals! Pastured Organic Raw Chicken Steakswith organic coconut added
Ingredients Tropical Traditions raw frozen chicken steaks for dogs and cats are made from our pastured chickens raised outdoors in Wisconsin on pasture and our organic Cocofeed. Cocofeed is a non-soy feed that includes coconut developed by Tropical Traditions (read more here). These certified organic chickens make up 85% of the steaks and include the meat, bones, liver, and other internal organs of the birds. Our frozen raw steaks are unlike other "organic raw chicken pet food" on the market, which is made up primarily from older egg-laying chickens that are no longer profitable in indoor organic egg mass-production houses, because their egg-laying capacity diminishes after about one year. They are sold off as cheap pet food, but command a higher price because they are technically certified "organic" because they ate organic feed all their life, even if they never saw sunshine or grass. Also, the organic feed fed to almost all organic chickens today have high concentrations of soy as the main protein. Our chickens are broilers that are raised outdoors in Wisconsin pastures by family farmers on our Cocofeed, which contains NO soy. In addition, 10% of the ingredients of our raw steaks are made from certified organic Tropical Traditions dried coconut, which is about 65% pure coconut oil. Coconut oil is very beneficial for pets, and enhances the immune system. The other 5% of the ingredients include: organic broccoli, organic carrot, organic celery, organic apple, organic squash, organic sweet potato, organic flax seed, organic kelp seaweed, organic wheat grass, organic parsley, organic cranberry, and sea salt. You will not find another complete pet food like this anywhere, unless you make it yourself. So if you want only the highest quality premium food for your pets, Tropical Traditions Pastured Organic Raw Chicken steaks are the best choice!

Grass-Fed Lamb
Grass-Fed Traditions supplies 100% grass-fed lamb from small-scale family farms in Wisconsin. These sheep graze on lush pasture all summer long in the rolling hills of the "Driftless Area" of southwestern Wisconsin. The Driftless Area of Wisconsin is famous around the world because it is completely surrounded by glaciated territory. It preserves a large sample of what the rest of Wisconsin, as well as northern and eastern United States, were like before the Glacial Period. The result is a unique geographical area of rolling hills that the early settlers of Wisconsin recognized was especially well-suited for grazing. Today many small-scale family farms still graze this rich soil.
Grass-Fed Bison
Our source for bison products comes from northern Wisconsin where the animals are grazed on prairie grass. The animals are 100% grass fed, and are also “finished” on grass. Grass-fed animals have been shown to be higher in Omega 3 fatty acids than grain-fed and finished livestock. CLA is also an essential fatty acid found primarily in grass-fed animals. Some studies have also shown that grass-fed bison contain up to 4 times more selenium than grain-fed bison. Bison do not have to be kept in barns, and can survive very harsh winters, finding grass to eat even when buried by a couple feet of snow! Bison is a very healthy, traditional source of meat in North America. And this is the premiere source of Bison in the U.S.! Most other sources of Bison are NOT 100% grass-fed, but include grains in the feed as well. These bison are NOT treated with hormones or antibiotics. They are naturally healthy and hearty animals. We only process our bison in the late spring through fall when they are grazing on green grass.
Grass-Fed Beef
Grass-Fed Traditions currently supplies 100% grass-fed beef from small-scale family farms in Wisconsin. Our cows are all grass-fed Angus and Galloway (mostly Galloway). How do we define “grass-fed?” The cows are on pasture, not in feed lots eating silage. They are also finished on grass, and do not eat grains at all. We don’t process animals in the winter or early spring, when they are only eating dry grass. Our animals are eating green grass right up to the time of processing, and are dry aged before packaging. Many sources of “grass-fed” beef today are simply from cows in feedlots eating silage year round.
Great King Wild Red Salmon from AlaskaWild Red Blueback Salmon is a rich source of Omega-3 fatty acids. Our wild red salmon is caught and packed fresh in Alaska! It contains no added chemicals or MSG, and no soy fillers. Wild Red Salmon is an excellent source of protein with zero carbohydrates. Add Salmon to your pet's diet two to three times a week for Omega 3 fatty acids.
